Vivian-style rice ball...

This is my very bizarre homemade rice ball...the rice is mixed up with salted and shiso-flavored wakame seaweed...enveloped inside is a whole boiled egg. It is topped with a fresh shiso leaf and nori seaweed paper...voila, a rice ball sandwich!

I gave this to Tomoko and Tatsuo (my students) to try...they thought it was certainly one of the more interesting varieties they have ever seen!
