tanning before the wedding?!

I recall my high school days in the months preceding the prom or homecoming dances, my classmates often shared stories about going to the tanning salon to achieve a bronzed goddess look for the big event. Similarly, women back home hit the tanning beds before their 'big day.' Check out the picture of a tanning bed, strikingly similar to the George Foreman's Lean Mean Grilling Machine...hmm.

This is a stark contrast from Japan where women make desperate attempts to whiten their decolletage and more importantly, face. (With the exception of orange-faced freaky ganguro Japanese girls!)
