some scones and tea, dear?

This is not a picture of the scones Andrea made but it is close enough. Before I could realize it, the scones made at her house were gobbled up. ^_^

She was a real dear - she taught me how to make real scones and Auzzie-style muffins! Aussie muffins are more biscuit-like than the American counterparts. She made a savory (salty...made with salt and fresh herbs from her garden!) pumpkin ones.

I cannot recall having had a tasty store-bought scone while here. I think scones are one of those things that needs to be eaten while pipin' hot, straight outta the oven. Do you like scones? The ones found at Starbucks filled with butterscotch chocolate bits are lovely but not very authentic.
