something fishy about this fish...

Meet the new shop in town, a local 'fish' shop. Not the kind that emits odoriferous fishy smells, but in fact emits a cloyingly sweet smell into the air. It is made of a pancake/waffle-like batter and filled with various fillings.

This particular one has a custard filling, but, the more traditional filling is あんこ, red bean paste. They even had a savory Okonomiyaki (as-you-like-it pancake)-flavoured one.

I found this shop's fish a bit too doughy and the filling was kind of cheap tasting. I think I'll spend my 130-yen elsewhere, like the new homemade yogurt shop I discovered at LaLa Garden Mall! This morning we had 桜あんこ　yogurt, cherry blossom flowers and red beans in yogurt! Delicious! At 190-yen/100 grams it was pricey but worth the occasion.
