pre-wedding festivities

Last Thursday and Friday everyone started rolling into Japan - that's when things were just starting to warm up!

An oopsie - two of our guests missed their Thursday flight and were scheduled to arrive one day later than planned. Scrambling around, other pick-up arrangements had to be made. Thankfully a student came to our rescue and saved the day. Phew: wiping off sweat from my forehead...

Friday I spent with the Gail and John Dughi (my honorary Caucasian mom and dad, parents of my brother's best friend, Pat), family friend Frank, and my brother Vinny and his wife Jinny. We took the grand tour around Tsukuba central - not much to see but, it was nice for them to see how I live life here. They seemed to enjoy getting acquainted to our small university town.
