Greetings of...summer!

In Japan there is a typical greeting in summer, saying "It is still too hot although the day of risshu has passed."

でも，夏なんか，「立秋をすぎてもまだまだ暑いですね．」という挨拶が毎年繰り返されますね．In romaji: Demo natsu nanka, "Risshuu wo sugitemo mada mada atsuidesune" toiuaisatsu ga maitoshi kurikaesaremasune.

Risshu is apparently the first day of autumn, that is, according to the lunar calendar! Thanks to Yumiko for telling me about that. ^_^
