Delaware grapes!

Delaware is a white wine grape that was first propagated in Delaware, Ohio in 1849. This is a vitis labruscana grape that is mostly grown in the east coast US, as well as in Japan. It ripens early, which does well in these climates that have short growing seasons.

I do not recall ever having seen these back in Illinois or Canada...hmm, I suppose it is limited to mostly the east coast States and Japan. I love to eat them frozen - it tastes just like grape sorbet. Frozen grapes are such a treat on hot summer days...try freezing big Pione or Kyohou grapes, I hear they are great frozen.
