My father presented me with a pair of wonderful hand-painted ducks, made in Honduras! This particular artist has amazing craftsmanship, check it out.

I was not aware of the symbolic meaning they represent: in Korea and China, ducks are included in the wedding procession because ducks mate for life. Should one happen to pass away, the other will remain partnerless for life. How bittersweet it is, indeed.

We displayed the pair on the welcome & reception table. I hope that like the ducks, we will have each other for life! Quack, quackkkkk.
