hmm...what a way to make a statement

From what I have been told by Japanese people here, most men are not very cooperative when it comes to wearing condoms. As for women, they usually do not insist on it either. This is one of the reasons cited for the increase in AIDS cases in Japan. At this rate, it could become an epidemic of sorts.

TOKYO — A total of at least 248 men and women in Japan were infected with the HIV virus that causes AIDS in the April-June period, the largest number of reported new infections since 1984 when a surveillance mechanism was introduced, the government's AIDS Surveillance Committee said Tuesday.
